About us

A hand held, not a hand out

CharityHand exists to help children, families and communities in underserved parts of Africa and Asia build the opportunities they choose for themselves.

Our mission

We support vulnerable children, families and communities through education, healthcare, nutrition, clean water, livelihoods and sustainable development — working through local partners so that support is relevant, respectful and lasting.

How we work

  1. 1. Listen. Communities and local partners identify the most urgent need and what they already have.
  2. 2. Resource. We fund and equip the agreed activity, with clear budgets and safeguarding in place.
  3. 3. Measure. Progress is tracked against agreed indicators and reported to supporters.
  4. 4. Hand over. Ownership and maintenance sit with the community, supported by training.

Requires NGO confirmation: Our founding date, legal structure, leadership team, board members and staff numbers are not yet published here. Supply verified organisational details to complete this page.

Our values

What we hold ourselves to

Dignity first

People we work with are partners, not subjects. We never use imagery or language that trades on humiliation.

Local leadership

Priorities are set by communities and local organisations who understand the context best.

Openness

We publish what we do, what it costs and what changed — including when something did not work.

Safeguarding

Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a condition of every programme and partnership.

Governance

Leadership and oversight

Trustees, senior staff and advisory roles will be listed here with names, roles and biographies.

Requires NGO confirmation: Provide the verified board and leadership list, along with the organisation's registration details, before this section is published.

Your support turns intention into opportunity.

Give once or give monthly. Every gift is directed to the programme areas the organisation runs, and reporting is shared openly with supporters.
